Tips and Tricks
- The recipe mentions Honey Crisp apples for their sweet-tart balance, but you can also experiment with other varieties like Granny Smith for a tart kick or Braeburn for extra sweetness.
- Remember to thaw your puff pastry just long enough to unfold it, usually around 20-30 minutes. Over-thawing will lead to a loss in the pastry’s ability to rise.
- The recipe is adaptable – consider using other pie fillings like cherry, blueberry, peach, or strawberry for variety.
